CAR JACKING, how safe is your car?

Image
Nigeria has now joined other countries experiencing advanced car jacking or should I say hacking. Items worth 200,000 naira was stolen from a car parked in the premises of one of the popular shopping malls in Lagos. CCTV footage showed the suspect walked up to the parked car which was already open via remote access and removed the items. The car owner testified that he met the parked car locked but the items were missing. This is just one of the many stories about the new trend of stealing from cars and in some cases stealing the car. Just last month, Wired released an article about two security specialists who commandeered a Jeep Cherokee’s onboard computers, and took control of the air conditioner, windshield wipers, and most terrifying, the accelerator and brakes. More recently, Volkswagen lost a two-year battle to suppress files about how hi-tech criminals are able to hack into their vehicles electronically. In Lagos Nigeria, a car parked at one of the popular shopping...

Made to last forever

Life on earth is just but a small parenthesis in eternity. Life on earth is likened to a dress rehearsal before the real production. No wonder Abraham Lincoln said "surely God would not have created such a being as man to exist only for a day! No,  no, man was made for immortality"  Eternity is the final destination of mankind. This life is only a phase of life that will pass away, but not the end of man, death is only a gateway to eternity. The Bible said in the book of 2cor 5:1 "when this tent we live in - i.e. Our body here on earth, is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home He himself has made, which will last forever"   This indicates that while on earth, we have a greater and better place we are heading to, and that life here on earth is just a preparation for the next which is the home the Bible is referring to. When you fully and finally comprehend that there is a far more to your life than just here and now, and you reali...

A big QUESTION for everyone.

Image
What drives your life? Drive can simply be referred to as a guide or a control over or of something. One’s life can be driven by numerous things or factors. One may be driven by a problem, a pressure, a circumstances etc. There are five factors that commonly drive a man’s life here on earth. They include the following 1.       Many people are driven by guilt of what they have done in the past. They allow their past to control and direct their lives. They spend their entire lives running from regrets and hiding their shame. Guilt driven people are manipulated in their memories. (Psalm 32:1) 2.       Many people are driven by resentment and anger . Resentment always hurt the people it controls. These people hold on hurts and never get over them. Instead of releasing the pain through forgiveness, they release it over and over in their minds, and at the long run, these resentments direct and control the wa...

An Accident? NEVER!

Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God, the maker of heaven and earth, even though you parent might have not planned given birth to you. The Bible says "You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body, you know exactly how i was made, bit by bit, how I was sculptured  from nothing to something". You were made  in the express image of God. You were neither a mistake nor an accident. Jeremiah 1 vs 5 says "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you, I appoint you a prophet to the nations". Here is the emphasis that you were never an accident, God planned every single act and stage of your life right from birth to the transition stage. yea, transition stage. Death is only a transition from earth to eternity.  Here's what Russell Kelfer has to say about it all in his poem you are who you are for a reason You're part of an intricate plan You're a p...

Purpose Driven Life

A review of Purpose Driven Life Let's talk on purpose driven LIFE 1. What on earth am I here for? This is a question most people have asked themselves over and over again and still haven't find an answer to it. I pray you will find an answer today in Jesus name, Amen It all starts with God.  The search for the purpose of life has puzzled people for thousands of years because we begin at the wrong Starting point which is centered on ourselves.  Focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life purpose, we must begin with God,  our creator, your creator, it's only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance and our destiny. Every other paths leads to a dead end.  We were. Are by God for God and until we understand that,  life will never make any sense. You may be very successful in your chosen career but the fact remains that being successful is different from being fulfilled. Being successful and fulfilling yo...

Samsung has introduced the SE370, the first monitor with an inbuilt wireless charging pad Samsung has created a computer monitor with an inbuilt wireless charging pad in what it claims is a world first. The SE370 monitor is available in 23.6-inch and 27-inch versions, with the charging pad positioned at the base of its stand. Wireless charging pads use transmitter and receiver coils to generate a magnetic field which induces a voltage in the receiver coil. The voltage...

Americans, food wasters

Americans throw away nearly half of their food every year, waste worth roughly $165 billion annually, according to a study by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The report estimates that the average American family of four ends up throwing away an equivalent of up to $2,275 annually in food. Even worse, there is evidence that there has been a 50 percent jump in U.S. food waste since the 1970s. It’s especially troubling that at the same time, one in seven Americans, more than 46 million people, including 12 million children, don’t know where their next meal is coming from, according to a study by Feeding America. Meanwhile, the rest of America continues to throw away unspoiled nutritious food. If we cut our food waste even by a third, there would be enough food for all those people who must rely on food banks and hand-outs to be fully fed. Why Do We Waste So Much Food? According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a typical American household discards 40 pe...
